What is the difference between an estimate and an invoice?
An estimate is what you expect the work to cost, sent before you start; an invoice is the bill, sent after. An estimate carries a valid-until date rather than a due date, and asks for no payment.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no account, no email capture, and no limit on how many estimates you make. The only trace of us is one small grey line in the footer of the PDF.
Does my information get uploaded anywhere?
No. The page runs entirely in your browser — your details, your client, your prices, and your logo never reach a server, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
What should an estimate include?
Your business and contact details, the client, a unique estimate number, the date, how long the price is good for, an itemised breakdown of the work, any tax, the total, and the terms — deposit, timeline, and what is excluded. The generator has a field for each of them.
Can the client accept or sign it?
Not from a PDF — a downloaded file cannot record a signature or tell you it was accepted. Liquid Invoice sends the estimate as a link the client signs, then converts it into an invoice in one click when the job is won.
Can I turn this into an invoice later?
With this free tool you would re-enter the details on the invoice generator. Keeping the same document through quote, acceptance, invoice, and payment without retyping it is what the paid app is for.
